Reinvigorating the Myer brand For over 107 years, Myer has been at the heart of Australian retailing. Over that time it has also played a pivotal role in the lives of all Australians – from “bringing international merchandising methods and fashion to during the Depression, celebrating fashion, and creating an ever-changing, memorable, retailing experience.

Commemorates Myer’s enduring focus on fashion for more than a century. During every stage of its history, Myer has registered a fashion first; be this in the open display of goods on counters, the introduction of designer imports, the development of a range for teenagers, bringing Dior’s “New Look” to Australia or in the launches of its trusted private label brands.

This story of Myer fashion is also told pictorially and traces how hemlines have gone up and come down, corsets have disappeared and reappeared and technological advances have seen fabrics flatter the female form today more than ever before.

This history of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) is two stories inextricably linked. One is of the Club’s struggle from humble beginnings to a position of prominence in the world of ocean racing. The other is the experience of the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and the lessons learned that propelled the club into the vanguard of safety in ocean racing, where it remains today.

Ratbags to Respectability was written by David Colfelt, long standing CYCA member, and past editor of Offshore Yachting magazine.

New South Wales enjoys ongoing growth as a highly competitive Asia-Pacific centre for investment, regional operations and as a base of business expansion – underpinned by the key business hub of Sydney a and a group of dynamic regional centres.

In order to reinforce New South Wales’ position of competitiveness, a new book project is being published. New South Wales, Australia: Leading the Asia-Pacific is driven by business and supported by a high level business Advisory Group under the chairmanship of Maurice Newman AC, Chairman of the Australian Stock Exchange.
